Volunteers

Library Volunteers have been a vital resource over many years allowing the library to expand services to patrons and the community through their dedicated fundraising efforts, and performing countless hours of service in support of library initiatives.

Join our team of tutors to help adult students in the Willow Grove area as they prepare for their GED; learn basic educational skills: reading, writing and math; or learn English as another language.  Volunteer training & support is provided by the Literacy Council of Norristown.

The Friends of UMFPL is a group of passionate library enthusiasts who donate their time and talents to raise funds to help finance Library services and campaigns, focus public attention on Library needs, and promote public support for the Library. Annual fundraisers such as the Jewelry Sale or New Years Eve event are organized by the Friends. In addition to event volunteers, the Friends are currently seeking volunteers to serve on their board as Committee members (Secretary, Fundraising Chair, Publicity Chair)

Book Sale Volunteers assist the library in raising funds by selling donated and withdrawn items. Volunteers sort, price, and discard items unlikely to sell and assist with maintenance of the Book Sale area of the library, keeping the sale area tidy and updating displays regularly. Open and fill out the Volunteer Application (hard copies are available at the library) and return to the library to be considered for any open positions.
