The Upper Moreland Free Public Library provides free hands-on computer training for beginners. Class sessions are 1 & 1/2 hours long. Please read below for the dates and times. Class size is limited to six people and registration is required. You may register 2 weeks before the class. Call 215-659-0741.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
If you are not sure what classes you need please contact the Reference Desk staff, and we can help you choose the best classes for your interests and skills.
Computer Basics – Never used a computer? Not sure how to getting started? No problem! We’ll teach you computer terminology, the basic parts of computers, keyboarding skills, and how to work with windows and files. No prior experience is necessary. Students will Call 215-659-0741 for more information and to register.
Introduction to the Internet – Does everyone tell you to go to www…? Don’t know what that means or how to do it? You need to learn about the Internet and the World Wide Web! We’ll teach you to navigate the Web with the Internet Explorer web browser, find information using search engines and directories, explore websites, and print web pages. This class is two sessions. Participants are required to know how to use a mouse and have basic computer skills.
Beginner’s Microsoft Word – Need to write a letter or make a flyer? Create professional-looking documents? Learn how to with Microsoft Word! We’ll teach you to edit and format text, adjust margins, insert clip art and photography, correct spelling, save, and print files. This class is two sessions. Participants are required to know how to use a mouse and have basic computer skills.
Beginner’s Excel – Knowing your way around a spreadsheet is a good tool to have in today’s job market. Want to take the first steps? We’ll teach you! Learn about cells, formulas, charts, and the basics of data analysis.
Introduction to Facebook – Almost everyone, from your neighbor’s dog to the largest companies, seems to be on Facebook these days. Would you like some help in getting started with this great tool to communicate with family, friends and the greater world? Sign up for this class and we’ll guide you through those first steps and give you handy tips about the service along the way.
Introduction to Pinterest – Pinterest is a creativity engine waiting for you! Join us as we walk you through this valuable web service where you can “pin” anything–home decorating ideas, crafts and decorations, artistic prompts, and much, much more–to your “board.” Sign up and get started!
