The Upper Moreland Free Public Library (UMFPL) is looking for a patron-focused individual with experience in public library work to join our team as an Assistant Librarian. The successful candidate enjoys providing top-notch service to our wide range of library users and enjoys completing a variety of tasks throughout the work week.

This part-time position is regularly scheduled for 18 hours/week, with the opportunity to add hours by substituting for others. Primary responsibilities include assisting patrons with accessing library collections, services, and technology, answering informational questions of varying complexity, and assisting the UMFPL’s librarians with the development of library events and collections.

Located in the heart of the Willow Grove’s business district, UMFPL is a much loved community resource with a robust offering of services and events. Managers strive to maintain a supportive work environment that provides opportunity for growth and development.


The library accepts applications (for non-professional positions) or resumes/cover letters (for professional positions) at any time for individuals who wish to be considered for future openings. Applications and resumes will be kept on file for a minimum of six (6) months to be considered for employment in the event that any positions open.
