UMFPL Pandemic Response latest update effective June 29, 2021

June 28, 2021 Update:
With the lifting of the statewide mask mandate UMFPL no longer requires masks for visitors to our building.

We encourage community members to follow the CDC's current recommendations for fully vaccinated individuals as well as guidance for those not yet, or not able to be, vaccinated.

During the Pandemic UMFPL will follow guidelines outlined by the PA Governor, Office of Commonwealth Libraries, or UMFPL Board of Trustees as appropriate for the situation.

  • Call us at 215-659-0741. If you reach our voicemail you can leave a message and we'll return your call shortly (during business hours) or the next day (outside of business hours!)
  • Chat with us on our Chat Widget on the bottom right of your screen! If chat is unavailable, leave us a message and we will get back to you within 24 hours!

With the Library open 7 days a week there's no need for an appointment for Curbside Pickup.

  • Park in the 15 minute spots directly opposite the library entrance.
  • Call the library  at 215-659-0741 and provide your library card number (or the card number of the person you're picking up for) and description of your vehicle.
  • Staff will check your materials out to you and deliver them to your open trunk or the empty back seat of your car.

Please return library materials in our exterior book drop only. These items will be quarantined for at least 48 hours before they are checked in, but you will not be charged any overdue fines for those days.

You can apply for a library card during the closure by filling out our Library Card application found HERE! Once you have filled out the form send it to us via email along with proof of address (a photo of your PA Driver's License, utility bill, lease agreement, etc.) to [email protected]. We will send you the physical card in the mail so you can access our digital resources!

There will be NO FINES ACCRUED on overdue materials.

UMFPL is currently accepting donations by appointment only due to the very limited storage space available for donations. Please call to make an appointment: 215-659-0741

Yes, our exterior book drop is open 27/7. Items will be checked-in by the next business day after being returned. Items can also now be returned in the inside drop during library hours.

Yes, the Library's WiFi signal has been adjusted to reach outside the building (on the patio near the Library's main entrance)! The network is called UMFPL and there is no password required.
