Patron Services Aide

POSITION TITLE: Patron Services Aide
FLSA STATUS: Part Time, hourly. Non-exempt.
HOURS: Mondays 5-8pm, Wednesdays 5-8pm, Saturdays 9:30am-1:30pm and Sundays 1-5pm on alternate weekends. Ability to substitute a plus. Anticipated start by August 1. This is a year-round position.

Are you looking for meaningful work on a friendly team, helping provide essential library services to the community? The Upper Moreland Free Public Library (UMFPL) is hiring a Patron Services Aide—and we’re looking for someone who loves libraries and enjoys working with people.

As a Patron Services Aide, you’ll be the welcoming face at our front desk. You’ll help library patrons by checking materials in and out, answering basic account and informational questions, managing patron requests, repairing materials, and completing other clerical tasks. Excellent customer service and a warm, helpful attitude are a must.

Our small-but-mighty library is located in the heart of the Willow Grove business district—close to the mall, restaurants, and public transit. UMFPL offers a wide range of programs and services, for visitors of all ages and walks of life, in a welcoming and respectful environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong customer service skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft and Google tools, and ability to learn library specific software
• New employees are required to pass a current Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Background check prior to beginning employment.

COMPENSATION:
• $16.00 per hour starting wage
• 3 PTO per year
